WEAVING NATURE AND FANTASY INTO DIGITAL FASHION
- November 22, 2024  by  ArtiAI MAGAZINE

Hanna Inaiah, a Brazilian fashion and print de signer, brings the vibrant spirit of Rio de Janei ro into the world of fashion through her unique blend of traditional craftsmanship and digital innovation. Growing up surrounded by artisans, her designs reflect the rich textures, bold colors, and natural beauty of Brazil, creating dreamlike worlds that balance the fantastical with the eve ryday. Her work weaves fashion surrealism into visual storytelling, connecting deeply with her cultural roots. Embracing AI as a tool, Hanna integrates digital techniques into her textile and print designs, using technology to complement rather than replace her manual skills.

By merging traditional hand-drawn methods with AI-generated ele ments, she expands her artistic language while maintaining a strong connection to her origins. The result is a striking fusion of the tangible and the digital, offering a fresh and imaginative take on contemporary fashion.
As she continues to evolve her creative journey, Hanna stays true to her vision of blending the personal with the innovative. Her work serves as a testament to the possibilities of modern tech nology when paired with deeply rooted traditions, crafting a new narrative in the world of fashion that is as enchanting as it is timeless.

WHAT IS YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS AND WHAT ARE YOUR SOURCES OF INSPIRATION?

My main universe of experimentation is tex tiles. And to bring my creations to life, I use my knowledge of fashion and the history of prints and ornaments. Inspiration can come from many places, from a film, a landscape, a song. I’m an observant person, I’m always paying attention to everything, I believe this helps me a lot to come up with ideas. I usually open my computer or tablet with ideas to put there, but if I need more inspiration for a project I turn to research. I have a huge collection to draw on in cases where I don’t know where to start.

HOW HAS AI TECHNOLOGY IMPACTED YOUR WORK?

I see an incredible opportunity for people with imagination to bring their ideas to life without necessarily mastering a technique. Because many people who master the technique don’t necessarily create something incredible, tech nique and creativity are different things.

HOW DO YOU FORESEE AI TECHNOLOGY INFLUENCING THE FUTURE OF THE ART WORLD?

AI is certainly already influencing fashion and I don’t know exactly where we are going but I see a lot of potential in this. It’s important to highlight that to bring our ideas to life with AI requires a lot of time and dedication and is a skill that comes from experience in generating prompts that will be capable of really illustrating what we imagine. It’s not as easy as some think and it can be very frustrating for others.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO NEWCOMERS INTERESTED IN DIGITAL ART?

Well, studying, researching, persisting, it took me a long time to see the first really interest ing images emerge. I stayed interested and continued improving. When I create images of humans and animals in symbiosis I always get emotional because my creations are based on the idea that we are all one and connected. I would like that somehow those of us who cannot see the urgency in understanding this could be touched and feel something through my images.
